The Harris County Disaster Assistance Recovery Center (DARC) provides information and resources following a disaster.  The information on our site outlines emergency assistance available in Harris County and is administered by Harris County Community Services Department. It provides general guidance for recovery and an overview of resources pertaining to preparedness, response, and recovery.

The mission of the Disaster Assistance Recovery Center is to aide the community in their recovery from a natural disaster through planning, preparation, and recovery activities.  In accomplishing this goal, the DARC will:

• Coordinate and maintain the most up-to-date resources available

• Collect, provide, and disseminate information from other supportive and social services organizations

• Bridge the communication gap between supportive agencies and the community
